Salt Lake City Real Estate

Live a Stress-Free Lifestyle

Salt Lake City is both the capital of the state of Utah & also its most populous city. Originally founded by Mormon pioneers back in 1847, its Mormon roots can still be seen in the temple square at the city's center and in the city's organization. Salt Lake City real estate exists in a real, modern city, however, noted by CNN as the least stressed out city in the US in 2014, thanks mainly to a relatively low cost of living & plentiful jobs. The city also has a thriving outdoor tourism industry!

Homes for Sale in Salt Lake City, UT

Salt Lake City has long been known as the "crossroads of the west" ever since the first highways were built in the area in the early years of the twentieth century. This distinction is still true more than ever with two major highways, I-15 and I-80 intersecting within the city's limits. These two major roadways make the endless outdoor recreational possibilities infinitely accessible to the homes for sale in Salt Lake City and serve as a primary selling feature. The city has become nationally renowned for its strong and booming outdoor recreational tourism industry based on skiing primarily, with 8 ski resorts within 50 miles of the city. The multitude of mountain peaks and canyons create fantastic hiking and biking opportunities throughout the surrounding valley.

Salt Lake City was originally known as Great Salt Lake City before the name was shortened and was, of course, so named for its position along the southern banks of the aptly named Great Salt Lake. The lake is the largest lake west of the Great Lakes and also the largest salt water lake in the entire western hemisphere. At 28 miles across at its widest point, the lake has a salinity that is much higher than the ocean, increasing the swimmer's buoyancy significantly.

This simple organization makes it easy to navigate among the Salt Lake City homes for sale.

Since the 1980s and 1990s, there has been a fairly consistent movement of residents out of the city of Salt Lake to the suburbs. In fact the daytime population of the city swells to 315 000 people, with significant numbers of workers choosing to work in the city while escaping to the suburbs at the end of the day. This trend is beginning to change with the residential population in the central areas of the city experiencing an upward trend.
